Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s name is synonymous with investment. He is one of the few equity investors in India who has created wealth through careful stock selection, endurance and belief. Among India’s most successful investors, his strategies and ideologies are looked up to as one of a kind. Mr. Jhunjhunwala founded his principles of investing – addressable opportunity, competitive ability, operating leverage and scalability, and integrity of the management. He is known for his trading skills and immense knowledge of current trends, and has learnt never to anticipate them even being a part of the stock market.
Besides his investing skills, Rakesh Jhunjhunjwala is also known for his philanthropic efforts driven through the R. Jhunjhunjwala Foundation, and his interest in the education sector. He is a trustee with the Agastya International Foundation, which is a transformative educational organization dedicated to bring learning to poor rural and urban children and teachers. Besides being on the Board of JBCN Education, he is also the Chairman of Aptech Limited and a founder board member of Ashoka University. Mr. Kunal Dalal is the Managing Director and Co- founder of the JBCN International group of schools. Mr. Dalal graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, before co-founding JBCN Education. Mr Dalal has worked at Rabo and Yes Bank, both financial start-ups, and his experience at these institutions prepared him thoroughly to handle the challenges of growing organisations and a great understanding of finance that enabled him to lead the JBCN group, spearheading the growth of educational institutions that equip students for life in a rapidly globalising world. His experience as a student of the IBDP programme enabled him to view the programme from a dual perspective: both as a student and as an educator. He believes that an international education is more than an affiliation to a board. It is about broadening children’s horizons and making them citizens of the world.
